About 5 years ago my family moved into a house my partner had remodeled that was owned by his employer at the time. I liked that my partner had put so much of his energy into our home and was happy with the way it looked. Not long after moving in, however, I began to notice things about the house that I didn’t really care for. Most of them centered around its location, which turned out to be near both of our exes and in a neighborhood with a lot of crime and drama.

I decided I would make a list in my manifesting notebook of everything that I hoped our next home would provide. As things came to me that I would like, I would add them to the list. I included details about each of the rooms, the yard, and the neighborhood of the house I would like to live in next. I finally felt the list was complete and forgot about it for more than a year.

Eventually, having my partner’s employer for a landlord became a problem. He had promised he would be retiring soon and would leave the business to my partner. My partner accepted lower pay in exchange for promised training and resources that never materialized, but when the time came for his employer to retire, he still felt ready to go it on his own. His employer then changed his mind and decided he was going to keep running the business himself. My partner decided it was time for him to move on anyway and set out on his own. As a result, we received a notice of a drastic rent increase and had no choice but to move.

It was with a sense of desperation, and with requests of prayers and positive energy from the spiritual community, that I began looking for a new home for our family. At first, I couldn’t find anything that fit our needs within our price range. Then I saw an advertisement that seemed like a long shot. It was perfect for us but had been advertised for a couple of weeks before I found it and I knew demand for such a house was high. As soon as I walked in, it felt so right though. I felt like I was home. During the walk through I noticed a pendant hanging in one closet, the only thing left behind in the house from the last resident, which had the scripture, “Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” John 16:24.

The house had plenty of space, was in a lovely and quiet location, and we could afford it. We applied and were happily accepted. The couple running the camp in which the house is located told me they had seen hundreds of applications, but no one felt right. They had been praying for the perfect tenants and just knew when they found our application that we were the right ones.

We made the move quickly from one house to the other. As I was unpacking, I came across my manifestation notebook and remembered the list I had written about the house I wanted. As I read the list, I was amazed that every single item from it was fulfilled in our new home. I thought of the pendant I had seen when we first looked at the house and found that it was still hanging in the closet. It sits before me now, on my desk. A reminder that when I asked, I received exactly what I wanted.
